If you're going to Baltimore from DCA, you have several
options.
The most common way is to go first to Union Station in downtown
Washington DC, and then take the train (Amtrak) to
Baltimore.
To get to Union Station, you can either take Metrorail (about
$2); the SuperShuttle (about $9); or a taxi (about $12). From
Union Station, trains leave for Baltimore very frequently; check Amtrak's
website for more details on times and fares.
You can also hire a taxi; going to Oriole Park at Camden Yards
in Baltimore, for example, is about 49 miles, and costs
approximately $75.
Taxi service will take you door-to-door, or you can rent a car
(see above). Currently neither SuperShuttle nor the Washington
Flyer Express Bus go to downtown Baltimore.
Going to Baltimore/Washington Airport (BWI)?
To get to BWI from National Airport, take the SuperShuttle.
The trip costs $35 for the first person, $5 for each additional,
and takes about 90 minutes. Reservations--800-BLUEVAN
(1-800-258-3826)--are not necessary, but are recommended.
If you're trying to get to or from locations outside the
Metropolitan Washington area that are not accessible by Metrorail,
SuperShuttle, or Washington Flyer Express Bus or Taxi, you have
several options.
- From many points, Richmond, VA, for example, take the
train (Amtrak) to
either Union Station in downtown Washington, DC, or
Alexandria, VA, and from there take Metrorail to National
Airport.
- Take
a Greyhound bus to or from Union Station and transfer to
Metrorail.
- From Fredericksburg, VA, you can take Amtrak to Alexandria,
VA, and transfer to Metrorail; or call Five Star
Transportation (877-533-2222) for shuttle service.
- Check your local Yellow
Pages for transportation services to National
Airport.
