Construction of Dulles Parking Garages Requires Change in Terminal Parking LotThe Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has awarded a $95 million contract to Turner Construction Company to build two parking garages at Washington Dulles International Airport. These garages, totaling 2.7 million square feet, will be the first ever constructed at the airport. They will be located close to the Terminal and will provide over 8,400 covered parking spaces. The garages are scheduled to open in 2002. One garage, which will be built directly north of the Terminal, will be connected via an underground passenger walkway with moving sidewalks. The construction of that walkway, along with other improvements in front of the Terminal, will require the closure of Daily parking in that lot. (More details are available....)
