[This originates from me hearing Carolyn say that my box was hacked when
 I had taken it down for a couple of days. As I posted to one mail list,
 and warned as many of users as I could, this was due to hard drive 
 problems (physical problems). This was NOT because of a hacker taking
 root and RMing my system as she said.

 This also replies to her telling various people that I am GALF, which 
 is not true at all.]

Subject: what the hell is up with you?

First off, I heard you said my box was hacked about the time I took it
down to replace the hard drive. Is there any particular reason you ignored
my mail about /dev/hda crashing and decided to start a rumor that a hacker
took it down? I have been hacked three times, by local users, who edited
the file I leave for that. They did it for the fun of it, and nothing
malicious ever happenened. To my knowledge, I still have not been hacked
remotely. I have received a ton of requests for people and continue to get
them. Even then, I am getting tons of attempts from people who didn't mail
saying they would accept the challenge. I am sorry my box was down a few
days after that Guide got released, but this box is not up to serve you or
the people hacking it. It is now back up and reconfigured, so I don't see
it as a problem.

Second, I have heard from several people that you are still saying to some
that I am galf. I don't know what it will take to make you understand that
I am not him. I haven't spoken to galf in several months, have no idea
what galf has been doing, etc. First you think I am Johnny, then galf.
What next, am I also u4ia, n00gz, and Mitnick? Drop it. I am my own person
who keeps tabs on as much as I can. I talk to as many people about hacking
as possible, and I end up having some good contacts that way. Because I
talk to someone doesn't mean I am them. Beause I share the same beliefs as
someone doesn't mean I am them.

For an information broker who professes to know about the law, you sure as
hell don't seem to grasp a few things. In the mean time, please quit with
this rumor bullshit. If you wanna know anything about me along those
lines, I will tell you. This petty rumor bullshit is getting very old very
quick.
