(hhp) mIRC/win95 advisory. (hhp) hhp-ADV#4 by: loophole hhp@hhp.perlx.com 11/3/99 11:47:17am CST. ------------------------------------------------------ Alright to my knowledge there is a new mIRC/win95 bug. It occurs when a filename is sent to a user running mIRC5.6 and Win95b(osr2) which contains exactly 240 characters in length. When the user accepts the filename it will cause a fatal error in windows(bsod), not allowing to cancel the error. Which results in the victim rebooting. The tested filename I sent was 'A'x240. I also tested this on mIRC5.31 successfully. I did not test it on win95a. Also, I tested win98 unsuccessfully. The max filename length in windows is 240 characters, so I'm guessing that is what is causing this fatal error. -hhp-2t0-----------------------------------------------
