Eight die in held Kashmir violence 




               SRINAGAR (Occupied Kashmir), Oct 5: Eight people have been killed in
               violence in occupied Kashmir, police said on Tuesday. They said a soldier died
               on Monday in a gunbattle with Kashmiri fighters at Budgam village in Berwah
               district, 15 km west of occupied Srinagar. 

               Earlier on Monday evening, paramilitary forces shot dead two militants at
               Pandach area on the outskirts of occupied Srinagar. 

               Mujahideen also shot dead a civilian near Srinagar's Habakadal area and three
               civilians in Baramulla district. 

               In another clash, soldiers shot dead a freedom fighter at Palvas area of Doda
               district, 350 km southeast of occupied Srinagar.-Reuters 
 
 

Two killed in Indian shelling



               MUZAFFARABAD, Oct 4: At least two children were killed while five others,
               including two women, were seriously wounded in Indian shelling from across the
               LoC in a remote village of Neelum valley on Sunday evening, official sources
               said here on Monday. 

               Sources said the cross-border shelling was continuing all along the Line of
               Control on Monday as well. However, they said the losses could be known
               only after the shelling subsided. 

               They said Indian forces targeted Kel sector, more than 155 kilometres
               northeast of here in the upper belt of Neelum valley, without any provocation,
               killing Sajjad, 3, son of Mumtaz and Bibi, 3, daughter of Mohammad Hanif.
