Guys, I might have a slight problem. As I was pulling into my driveway, my check engine light came on. Now for me I have never seen this light, and my oil pressure gague did not move(what a suprise). I checked my oil and it was low, It will be due in a few hundred miles for an oil change however I think it will be changed that sooner. Oil has NOT been driping, and there is no visible oil spray on the under body, what might have happened? It IS LOW according to the dipstick, what happended to my oil? I change the oil every 3,000 miles, I always take out 4.5qts, and put the same amount back in I do not smeel any burnt oil, this makes me very worried!!!HELP!!! The engine JUST hit 70,000------------------ Nick '93 XLT 4 Door 4x4 Bosch Plat+4's with SplitFire Dual Core wires and a K&N Air Filter with a Modified Air Box |

Relax pal, you sound like me! Anyway, did you check the oil right after you stopped? Because unless you wait 10-15 minutes the level if going to be low, until the oil drains out of the engine and back into the pan. The Check Engine light means there was a problem registered in your PCM, powertrain control module. It could be any of 1000 different things, emissions, sensors, a lot of things. If your oil had been dangerously low the add oil light would have come on. Is it the Check Engine or add oil? ------------------ Stephen Withrow StephenLS400@aol.com ------------------ 97 Explorer Limited 4X4 SOHC V6 98 Lexus LS400 | |
