Security cooperation is the cornerstone for
future peace, prosperity, and stability in the North Atlantic and European regions. The

coordination with the NATO Office of Information and Press (NATIP) in Brussels and through the Atlantic Councils of the Atlantic
Treaty Association (ATA).
- NATO Enlargement and the Partnership for Peace (PFP)
-- assesses the accession process of new members to the Atlantic Alliance and presents
recommendations for enhancing the Partnership for Peace program. Publishes policy
papers, bulletins, and periodic updates on European security issues.
- Atlantic Treaty Association (ATA) -- as the U.S. chapter of the ATA,
the Council supports the work of the Association, participates in its annual assembly, and
maintains contact with affiliated councils. The Council has links with the new
Atlantic Councils being established in Central and Eastern Europe.
- European Security Conferences -- sponsors conferences and seminars in Washington,
DC with senior U.S. and European policy-makers and officials on European security
topics.
- NATO Information Office -- advances public awareness of NATO issues; responds to requests for information about European and
security issues; and brings high-level NATO officials and experts
to the United States for seminars and meetings with U.S. policymakers. For more
information about NATO and its activities, please visit the official NATO
